Institue Internship

About the Internship Program

Are you interested in exploring what it's like to serve in ministry? Do you feel called into vocational ministry? Then the Emmaus Institute Ministry Internship is a wonderful opportunity to see what it's like to serve in ministry! This is a chance to help members of the Emmaus staff minister to the people of Emmaus in the various ministries they oversee!

Purpose and Vision

In 2 Timothy 2:2, the Apostle Paul instructs his younger mentee Timothy on an important principle for the continuation of the faith through the ages – ministry training. He tells Timothy to take everything that God has entrusted to him, all the knowledge, wisdom, and experience, and invest it all into other men that will eventually invest it in others themselves. This is the heart of biblical disciple-making in obedience to Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20 – teaching others to obey everything that Christ has commanded!

Therein, it is a strategic priority of the Institute for Disciple Making to invest in future ministry leaders for the sake of imparting knowledge, wisdom, and experience for future ministry work. By being selected into this program, we have identified the potential for such ministry work in your future, and by God’s grace, we hope that your participation will better equip you for that calling to which God is leading you.

Program Supervision

The Ministry Internship Program is overseen and directed by the Pastor of Discipleship, Brian Bone, in collaboration with other staff who will also participate in supervision of direct activities as assigned. Ultimately, we all submit joyfully to the leadership of the elders of Emmaus Church, charged and installed by God for the faithful oversight of the church and all members and staff therein.

Program Details

All summer internships are unpaid, voluntary roles meant to give interns first-hand exposure to active ministry within the various programs of Emmaus Church. Internships range in their specific weekly time commitments, but they all typically require no less than 10 hours/week for 6-8 weeks.

As part of the program, interns will be required to complete weekly reading assignments and attend mandatory mentorship meetings to discuss what they are learning along the way.
