Worship Auditions

Take your next step toward serving with your musical gifts

Why Auditions?

Auditions may not be the most enjoyable step, but they’re important. They help us confirm musical readiness, consistency, and team fit so we can serve the church with excellence and place people where they can contribute effectively.

How to Audition Well

Be prepared and confident. Know your songs and perform without relying on sheet music or lyrics. Focus on timing, dynamics, and how your part fits with the team. Stay flexible, follow directions, and let your musicality shine.

What to Prepare

Here’s what you’ll need to prepare. Each section includes the specific songs for your audition along with helpful tips and resources. Review the materials that match your role so you can come in confident and ready.

Please prepare “Hymn of Heaven” by Phil Wickham and “My Worth Is Not In What I Own” by Shane & Shane. Be ready to play confidently without relying heavily on chord charts. Focus on playing in tune, following the song’s dynamics, and blending smoothly with the other instruments. Sometimes songs we play have clear string parts, but most of the time they do not. You need to create something to play that complements the music. Please don't feel pressure to play the whole time, but add flowing layers wherever you think it works best.
