The Vision

Look at all that King Jesus has done. He has been so faithful to us as a church family. When Emmaus Church was first planted in September of 2010, the mission that King Jesus had called us to was clear and simple: preach God’s Word verse by verse, point everyone to Jesus Christ, make disciples in obedience to Jesus, and plant more churches that will do the same thing. Over the years God has continued to bless this mission, and He has continued to grow and bless His Church.

Now here we are in what is undoubtedly the most significant and exciting season in the history of this church family. The LORD has blessed us with 30 acres of exceedingly good and beautiful land, and He has given us the magnificent opportunity to do something that very few people actually get to do. We get to build a gospel proclaiming, Jesus exalting, Bible preaching, disciple making church for the next generation.

Pastor Anson

In this vision video, our lead pastor, Anson McMahon, shares what the Lord is doing in and through Emmaus Church and the hope He has set before us for the future.

O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.

Psalm 71:17-18

The Journey

Where We've Been

Emmaus Church began more than fifteen years ago with a small group of people who were passionate about Jesus and committed to Scripture, gathering first in a gym and later in a movie theater before eventually meeting where we are now. From the beginning our heart has been simple and biblical: follow Jesus, make disciples, and plant churches.

Where We Are

Where We Are

Today we are experiencing a season of remarkable growth as the Lord continues to move among His people. Our average weekly attendance has increased from six hundred in 2018 to more than nine hundred in 2025, with this past September averaging more than one thousand people each week and showing fifteen percent year-to-year growth.

Where We're Headed

As we look to the future, we are trusting God to provide the resources to build a permanent home for our church family, a place where generations to come can worship, learn, and be equipped to follow Jesus. We believe that this vision God is calling us into can only be accomplished with unified focus on this Gospel work with every one of us aligned in prayer and generosity to accomplish this great work.

Conceptual Floor Plans & Renderings

The floor plans below reflect the proposed design for our permanent home. This new facility will expand our current 26,000 sq. ft. to 40,000 sq. ft., along with an additional 15,000 sq. ft. unfinished basement shell for future growth. This layout provides dedicated space for our next generation, multiple discipleship environments, and specialized classrooms for those with special needs. Our current parking lot includes 84 spaces; this new design allows for 440. With the 30 acres the Lord has graciously provided, we will still have significant room to grow beyond these initial plans.

Gospel Generosity

We are praying that every person who calls Emmaus their church home will give cheerfully, abundantly, and sacrificially so that we might give the gift of a gospel-proclaiming church to another generation.

Give as the Lord leads. Take time to seek His guidance about a multiyear commitment, asking Him to shape your willingness and capacity to give. Approach this with a posture of faith, trusting that God will provide all that is needed and that He will use our collective generosity to accomplish far more than we could imagine.

Q&A

The LORD has blessed us with 30 acres of exceedingly good and beautiful land, and He has given us the magnificent opportunity to do something that very few people actually get to do. We get to build a gospel-proclaiming, Jesus-exalting, Bible-preaching, disciple-making church for the next generation! We are entering a season of radical gospel generosity and here is what we are praying for: that every person who calls Emmaus their church home will give cheerfully, abundantly, and sacrificially so that we might give the gift of a gospel-proclaiming church to another generation.

There are two key factors - square footage and functionality of space. In terms of square footage, we occupy ~26,000 square feet currently and plan to build an estimated 40,000 sq/ft space. The major factor is functionality with purposefully designed space providing much more efficient use of square feet. We hope to build a worship space with more than double our current capacity, much more intentional youth and children’s spaces, and several more toilets!

The total project cost is $18.6 million, with $16 million allocated to building costs. As we step forward in faith, we also recognize our responsibility to prepare wisely for the work the Lord has entrusted to us. Our elders are comfortable taking on a responsible level of financing, which sets the giving goal for To Another Generation at at least $9 million, based on a projected and sustainable level of debt service.

First and foremost, we ask that you pray and seek the Lord’s leading in this season. We would love for you to walk through our prayer guide as you prepare your heart and listen for what He is asking of you. This step forward will take the prayerful participation of our entire church family.

We are also asking you to make a commitment to give towards the building of a gospel-proclaiming, Jesus-exalting, Bible-preaching, disciple-making church for the next generation! Please mark your calendar for Commitment Sunday on March 15th and begin preparing now for what we believe will be a defining moment in the life of our church.

We are asking for 3-year commitments that are over and above regular general fund giving. But, how you structure your commitment can be flexible. Giving can be spread evenly over each year, paid in installments or one-time annually, or it can vary from year to year to achieve the total pledge amount. Additionally, giving appreciated assets is an available option.

To Another Generation is a call to surrendered, gospel-driven generosity for everyone who calls Emmaus Church home. If you have never given before, this is your invitation to begin to give and trust God with your finances.

No, giving of regular tithes and offerings fund ongoing ministry at Emmaus, and those needs will continue. We are asking the people of Emmaus to make a pledge for To Another Generation that will be above and beyond regular giving.

We believe that God has designed the local church to be a place of deep community for deep discipleship. The local church is one of the most compelling missions to give toward, and we would love for you to make Emmaus your church home and join us in this season. While membership is not required to participate, we strongly encourage you to take your next step towards covenant membership here at Emmaus. Click here to learn more.

If you have any further questions, we invite you to reach out to our elders at elders@emmauschurch.com. They would be glad to provide guidance and help you take your next steps in this season.
