North Gwinnett Co-Op

The What

The North Gwinnett Co-op is a faith-based organization that bridges the gaps for critical needs of families or individuals and provides services to aid in finding a path to self-sufficiency. Services include providing food, clothing, utility, and prescription medication assistance to residents of Buford, Sugar Hill, and Suwanee as well as the Gwinnett County portions of Auburn, Braselton and Hoschton.The largest demographic served are families with children. In addition, support is provided to Senior Adults for medical/prescription financial needs, while also ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met. The North Gwinnett Co-op is a resource to individuals and families who have experienced a job loss, poor health, or a crisis — providing support to help during critical times.

The Who

Originally formed by Sugar Hill United Methodist Church in 1991, the ministry is now supported by additional congregations, area businesses, civic organizations, schools and individuals who generously donate food, clothing, financial resources, and committed volunteer efforts.

Ways to Get Involved

Become a partner in the fight against hunger in our community! The North Gwinnett Co-Op depends on the support of our volunteers. Your time is a gift to hungry kids, seniors and families who do not have enough to eat.

Pack Food & Thrift Store

Volunteers are needed every day to help sort and pack food and thrift store donations, as well as assist with special events and administrative support.

Mobile Food Pantry

Launched in October 2021, the goal of the mobile food pantry is to bring nutritious food to those in need where transportation is often a challenge. Volunteers are needed with set-up, distribution, and clean-up. Bi-lingual Spanish/English volunteers are greatly needed! Mobile Pantry sites are Mondays and Thursdays. Volunteers must be high school and older. Available times/dates for the Mobile Food Pantry Program can be found below.
