Straight Street

The What

Based in Straight Street is a faith-based nonprofit organization founded in 2010 to passionately serve and bring hope to those who have been marginalized by society. Straight Street encompasses four ministries: Backpack Love, SS Impact, Beautiful Feet, and Straight Street Camp.

Backpack Love

Each Friday throughout the school year, backpacks full of food are provided that feed a food insecure family of five. Inside each bag are three dinners, two breakfasts, two lunches and snacks. The food pantry is open all year to our community by appointment only.

Straight Street Impact

Volunteers are mobilized to put love into action by doing miscellaneous jobs for widows, single moms, seniors, and the disabled throughout northeast Georgia without the resources to maintain or repair their home. By seeking out and completing work projects such as building handicap ramps, making repairs, and meeting critical needs, the Straight Street Impact program provides a way to share the Gospel and leave a lasting impact on the lives of those served.

Beautiful Feet

Launched in 2012, Beautiful Feet seeks to reach and support victims of commercial sexual exploitation, which may include stripping, pornography, prostitution or sex trafficking. Working to break the cycle of sexual exploitation one woman at a time, Beautiful Feet connects the women with the Gospel and helps them find the courage and confidence to begin a new life.

Straight Street Camp

Straight Street recognizes that during the summer months the community needs daytime programs that offer a safe and nurturing environment for school age children to attend. Research confirms children not engaged in learning activities over the summer months will experience some loss of learning. This learning gap increases for disengaged youth from a low economic background. An effective summer program will aid in the growth and development of a young person and can enhance their educational pursuits. Straight Street provides a free summer camp for the children that receive their backpacks.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
