The Ten Commandments
What They Mean, Why They Matter, and Why We Should Obey Them
This summer at Emmaus, we’ll explore the Ten Commandments—not merely as rules, but as a gracious picture of who God is and how He calls His people to live. Given after His rescue of Israel, they remind us that our relationship with God begins with grace, not performance, while also pointing us to our need for Jesus. In Christ, we obey not to earn God’s favor, but because we already have it, learning by His Spirit to walk in joyful obedience. Our primary guide will be Scripture, with The Ten Commandments by Kevin DeYoung as a helpful companion. This class will include both teaching and discussion, with the goal of growing not just in understanding, but in genuine love for God and His Word.
