SAY
That’s so fun! In this series, we are going to be discovering a treasure that is better than gold! What do you think that treasure could be? (Allow responses)
It’s the Bible! The Bible is an amazing book full of God’s words that tell God’s story! So let me hear you say this after me:
God’s Word (make book with hands)
Is God’s Story (point up)

ASK your Preschooler:
Did God make everything we see or nothing at all? (Everything we see)
When Adam and Eve sinned, or disobeyed, did it hurt their friendship with God? (Yes)
Did God have a special plan to fix our friendship with Him? (Yes) Aye, mateys! The Bible is God’s Word to us. It is His story about all the things He did to show us His love and fix our friendship with Him.
ASK your Elementary Schooler:
What are three things you remember that God created? (Allow responses)
How did Adam and Eve hurt their friendship with God? (By believing the lie from the snake, disobeying God, sin)
Was God surprised when Adam and Eve sinned, or did He know it was going to happen? (He knew it would happen)
That’s right! And that’s why we have the Bible. It’s God’s story of everything He did to show us love and fix our friendship with Him!

DO
Ask and/or do the following:
What is your favorite story in the Bible?
Take time to read these stories from the Bible or Bible Storybook, and talk about why it was chosen as a favorite.
Are the stories we read in the Bible make-believe or true? (True)
How do you know that God loves you?
SAY
The Bible is God’s true words to you and me. It’s His story about all the things He did to show us His love! Say this after me:
God’s Word (make book with hands)
Is God’s Story (point up)

PRAY
Hey God! Thank You for making everything we see, including me! Thank You for loving us and giving us the Bible! Help us to treasure Your special story more than anything else. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

SAY & DO
There’s a verse in the Bible that helps us know that God’s Word is better than gold, and we can treasure it more than anything else! Say this after me:
“Your Word (make book with hands)
to me, Your servant, (thumbs to chest)
is like pure gold; (wiggle fingers)
I treasure what You say.”(hands over heart)
Psalm 119:140 (make book with hands)
Have your family sit in a circle, putting your feet in the middle. Point to one person’s foot and say the first word of the verse. Have everyone say each word of the verse as you point to the next foot. Whichever foot you are pointing to when you say “140,” is out. Continue until there is only one foot remaining.
